Introducing the Monroe Facility
Tuesday, September 15, 2020
Carter Control Systems (CCS) is excited to announce it has officially begun manufacturing operations out of a new 40,000 square foot facility on Monroe Avenue in Frederick, MD in addition to their 28,000 square foot facility on Geoffrey Way, also located in Frederick. The first shipment of CCS’ Mobile Conveyor manufactured in the Monroe Facility shipped out on Tuesday, September 1, 2020.
The new Monroe Facility is a short drive from their headquarters on Geoffrey Way. It will run two shifts and employ 100 workers manufacturing as much MDR Mobile Conveyor as possible. As of now, the Monroe Facility has increased their Mobile Conveyor production by 100%.
The CCS team is happy to have CCS Conveyor manufactured back in Maryland, after several years of their Coleman Plant in Savannah, GA being the primary manufacturing site. The Coleman Plant located in Savannah will continue manufacturing operations as it has been. President Duane Glass comments, “It’s with great pleasure to announce the need to expand our production capabilities. By opening our new manufacturing facility in Frederick, we now have plenty of capacity to fill our clients’ needs and reduce our delivery lead times. The new facility was up and running making deliveries within the first week of opening. These are exciting times for CCS.”
Meeting Increased Demand
In May 2020, CCS’ R&D team announced a new line of MDR Mobile Conveyor. This type of conveyor was designed specifically to help warehouses from all industries adjust their system on the fly to match changing demands. Mobile Conveyor became CCS’ priority after hearing for years about how difficult it is to anticipate fluctuations in demand and how beneficial it would be to have a fully reconfigurable conveyor system.
Since its launch, CCS has sold over six linear miles of Mobile Conveyor with many more miles already ordered and on the way. The Monroe Facility is aimed at increasing CCS’ Mobile Conveyor production to match this increased demand.
